In a solid showing of power to weight mixed in with good top-end, the new Z did well, keeping up with the recently upgraded Mustang. A surprising result since the 'Stang was never a slow car, and came to this test with more power than prior versions.

The overall winner for the shootout was the RX-8 however, which was given the nod due to its excellent interior quality, top tier driving dynamics, and interior space. Second was the Audi TT, posting the second-fastest lap times and finishing third in most drag races. Finishing third was the Z, which was the fastest both in a line and in the corners, but lost points due to its lack of refinement. Fourth was the Mustang, which although quick- lacked both driving dynamics and refinement in comparison with its competition.
