I have been mulling over this one for a while. Needless to say, this story is seeing considerable face time all over the web. Personally I just don't know what to make of it.<!--more--> A test engineer falls asleep driving what is supposed to be one of Pontiac's most anticipated next releases. As it goes, Rolf Glenk, a 41-year-old Australian engineer was driving a test G8 car when he fell asleep at the wheel. Subsequently, he plummeted down a 100-foot embankment, striking a boulder and flipping the car end over end somewhere off of Colorado's highway 82. Now massive, we have all been sleepy on the road before. I mean who knows, the guy could have just arrived from Australia after a several hour long flight. That said, if I was put in charge of a one of a kind anything, I would do what was necessary to keep my faculties straight. Options could include (coffee, loud music, CB communication (he was part of a convoy) or even a passenger. I am also hard pressed to believe that the Nissan GTR crew or the IS-F crew (in spite of the frustrating PR game) would fall asleep at the helm of their products. From that perspective, this does not send a good message to Pontiac fans. But that is just me. Oh for those who are wondering, Glenk is ok.
