Ok so this was pretty last minute. But I have to give the cats that are running the track credit regardless: a FREE track day for people to go down and race, to support the street class!? At first I didn't believe it. Like many of you, I never heard anything on the radio but a few others did ...so I showed up late in the afternoon to find no one there. Then I got a call from our DE O that they did have races, so later in the night I went, and sure enough the track was open. It's good to see drag racing being promoted like that.

So, without further ado, here are the pics. This time I didn't have video, but rest assured we will have video coverage again for the next track day, VI/PR friendship weekend.

Folks- What's is scoop on the Celica and the vette? Real threat or just stuntin?

vette is bates own i think. maybe a 12 sec car? :dunno:
dont know about the celica. i assume its near stock performance wise, it was in the car show here on stx.

the big race was the civic and mustang/cobra. the race was over from the launch, the civic had at least a car on the cobra. but then by the 1/8th or so it had some kind of engine problem and the cobra pulled through for the win. i heard the race was for $3k...

nice coverage! I came early and then left because they had like a hr delay after a motocycle. Yo, the celica really race?

the celica is a dud, real joke completely stock and deh driver always crunk, the vette is bates own, that may be a threat, it does have some work in the engine

Ive been out the race seen for a while but i heard that the gray civic raced the mustang.......
Now if im not mistaking that mustang setup a race last year with me for big bucks. It was agreed upon that we would run the quarter mile... the night of the race he backed out and said his car only runs on the 1/2mile or mile. now thats bull sh*t....

I was supposed to run the supra for Hewbert. after he saw me beat Polo's 3rd gen rx7 on the 1/4mile,... He changed his story and said his car only runs the 1/2mile or mile.
Couple weeks later he ran Don's Evolution 8 on the 1/4 mile....

I guess they know what tree to climb...

I still dont consider that race a real win for him... The civic broke down after the 8th mile. And still the civic had the wholeshot.
Send that Tank to Iraq......

Mitsubishi you need to stop telling LIES!!!!! Your race with the mustang was agreed to by you and him 2 be a 1/2 mile, and at the last minute, the same night of the race you and your jokey crew decided to change to race cause ayo know you was going to lose!!!

You came up with all kinds of excuse the night of the race why your car cant run a 1/2 mile and can only run a 1/4 mile but you know you originally agree to a 1/2 mile race.

You can only talk about beating a slow ass 3rd gen rx7 and them say no one want to race you. PLEASE!!!

If you dont consider that a real win, why dont you bring that dead talon you have and stop spreading lies.

You dont know the story.....
1. The mustang owner agreed over the phone that the race was gonna be on the 1/4 mile.
2. Later that night him and his crew showed up in sunny isles, when his buddy "Link" found out who he was gonna run... he quickly said that Nigel's car only runs the 1/2 mile and mile... Not letting the owner of the mustang have a say. Keep in mind that "Link" has a talon also... Which has never made it off jack stands. He persuaded Nigel not to run me on the quarter mile due to the nature of Talon's...

I have ran more races than you know of... and against cars faster than that mustang....

You never had the heart to run my talon...
My eclipse will be on the road soon... if you cant make it pass my eclipse then racing my talon will be out of the equation.

Your a cool guy but get your facts straight... Dont come at me like that.....
running 12's and 11's are a common thing on the track now!!.. I'll even help you wrench on your BMW to help you get out the 14second barrier:hug:

I think you are confuss!!!
1. The owner for the mustang is here right now with me replaying back to you and he said he NEVER agree to a 1/4 mile race with you and you know that is true.
2. You can see by your reply that you dont know anything about car race.

You speak about running fastest car than the mustang....first you dont know how fast the mustang is...and you can only speak about beating polo slow ass 3rd gen rx7

What fast car you race? NONE!!! o yea paba slow rsx.... congrats.

Dont worry bout my bimmer,cause I dont spread lies on forum that no one knows better about.

Just be honest !!!! It is only car race!!!

Well, im in the process of rebuilding the talon... i took it apart running fine... but i feel the need for more speed.. My goal is to get in the single digits.. and believe me its gonna be reality, not a dream. Although the car wont see the streets again.. it will be streetable in the since of driving to the track and back home.. As for a street car, im almost done with my eclipse... It will be a street car / daily driver....

Whether 1/4 or mile, the talon is done as a street car.... No more container port, highway, or airport.... Drag Strip.... if the Mustang is willing to wait until its complete and take the gamble... i guess its settled. Dont get me wrong i like the car, its fast and has lots of power... With a little more time behind the wheel the owner will see he has a monster...

If the race had gone down on the quarter mile that night... .it would have been mine.... honestly....

Good look Mustang, keep wrenching... it will all come together...:h5:
