I wasn't going to post another update until I had something significant....but, well...Nissan has returned to the 'Ring in Germany with multiple GT-Rs. And they haven't come in peace. For the first time, they've cleaned off their masks revealing 90% of what the final car will look like, inside and out. They're also wearing the legendary badging....in pursuit of the ultimate claim.... <!--more-->

Word from 'Ring side observers is that Nissan has returned with a new target in their sights. <em>With the 911 Turbo all but beaten, they're upping the ante and are targeting the fastest Porsche to ever hit the streets: the Carrera GT.</em> But not only is the Carrera GT the fastest Porsche ever, it's also the <a href="http://www.streetseen.vi/forums/showpost.php?p=1530&postcount=2">fastest mass production vehicle to ever hit the 'Ring</a>. All bikes included.
Yes you read that right. These GT-Rs are said to be running high boost setups, proving the platform of the R35 before tuners even get the chance.
So far though, Team Nissan has not been successful, and damp parts of the track have been hampering progress. But, while the crew said that they hadn't reached their mark yet, they did hint that they're already sub-7:35, indicating that they're definitely in striking distance, and if true- well beyond all other production cars. Indeed, the Carrera GT remains the only production car for them to target. Nissan crew: Stand up.
