Went looking for surf today was way to big anywhere worthy wouldn't hold the swell..shoys beach washed away, carambola good luck getting out...you should have seen judith fancy..it was amazing at the size of the swell. Out by cramers was probably 20 foot easy...tomorrow will check again, hopefully the wind switch's offshore and cleans up...I think this weekend there will be really nice surfing going on..right now its just not holding anywhere..wish we had some big wave spots here that could hold the swell. Cane bay was crap idoubt anyone got lost out there, checked it today was really small, bogeys and off the wall where crazy big though.

It is true, the son of a friend of ours. They found him this morning. It actually happened off Carambola. Terrible news.
I used to work with his father back when I was the naval architect at Gold Coast Yachts. I just heard of it a couple of hours ago from our landlady who still works there.

H2O can close down surfing will never close lol you have to use your head and realize what your capable of simple as that...most of us experianced surfers didn't go out yesterday..not because we couldn't make it out..but because it was pointless to go out..you'd catch one wave and that would be it..rest of your time would be trying to get in safely or getting back out. When i say wave faces where 20+ feet i mean 20+feet. Thats tow in surfing size...

Maybe 20+feet to someone who is vertically challenged but from my line of sight didn't look more than 8-10ft tops....... lmao...

it always looks smaller to people that dont actually surf. i looked at it yesterday and it was 20+........ i have to agree with VIZuki on this one, i have been surfing here for about 14 years and thats the biggest i think i have ever seen it:eek: i would have never attempted it.... but today on the other hand was beautiful
