...and it's RWD.* It's called the Pontiac G8...<!--more--> It rides on the Zeta platform, which is GM's new rear drive architecture that will also be used in the Camaro and the new Impala. The G8 is expected to be offered with two engines: a 3.6L DOHC VVT V6 producing 261hp and a 6.0L V8 with 362hp. The V6 is expected to be offered with a 6 speed automatic and the V8 is said to be offered with a 6 speed manual transmission. Although GM isn't commenting on any questions regarding a higher end version of the car, rumors suggest they're currently developing a GTP or GXP model packing a modified LS2/LS3 series engine with over 400hp. Although weight is in at around 3950lbs, you can't argue with this kind of power. Look out for G8s on the streets early next year.
