Celica/Skyline, Supra/Z. xB/Cube. The Nissan & Toyota rivalry has gone on for the last couple decades is showing no sign of slowing. Latest word from Japan indicates that Nissan maybe be next to join the $20k front engined, rear drive sports car segment. Put another way, we're looking at a return of the Silvia.
Although it appears to only be speculation and rumor at this point, there may be more to the story- this is how the low cost Toyota FR rumor started, and that's now being carried by major Japanese newspapers with credible sources and is looking quite credible.
Should the new car be built, expected output is in the 240hp range, with about 2500lbs of weight, for about $22,000. If true, it'll be interesting to see what comes of this...
