Today we're getting word from Japan, via Best Car Plus Magazine, that Toyota's committee to create exciting cars (which I reported on just two days ago) is acting quicker than we thought... and is resurrecting the long lost AE86. As the rumor goes, the new car is allegedly 13ft 1in in length, 67 inches wide, and 4ft 7in tall. The car will be powered by a 1.5L 4 cylinder engine with engine code 2NZ-FE generating 120hp. From here things get interesting: apparently the target weight of the car is 2200lbs, and the car will be based on a Subaru-sourced RWD platform. And that's not all- they claim the car will be priced in at 1.5 million yen, which is $12,600 in USD.... and is planning on bringing the car to the market in the winter of 2008...
