Development on Hyundai's new rear-drive coupe is very much underway in Korea as, thanks to the newtiburon forums, we're now seeing new spottings of the car on public roads.

We still don't have anything official to go off of since last time, but rumors suggest that the car may not replace the Tiburon as originally thought- instead it may be slotted above the Tiburon. The car is allegedly targeting the Nissan 350Z and more directly the Infiniti G35 in terms of the overall package it offers, but at a lower price. Supposedly, there will be two engines offered- a 4cylinder turbocharged motor putting out 215hp and a V6 putting out about 280+ hp...
Word from Korea also indicates that the car will feature a LSD, 19" wheels with optional Brembo sourced brakes, and a smart key system....so it looks like they really are taking a page or two from Nissan. Whether Hyundai's claims of matching the G35's performance turn true or not, we can't hate on them for trying to bring us a front engined/rear drive car for an affordable price.... and you have to give Hyundai credit for the progress they've been making as of late.

We look for Hyundai's new coupe to hit Korea next spring and the US as early as next summer.
