In its annual piece, Temple of VTEC, a major Honda/Acura website has posted its <a href="http://vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=667098" target="_blank">predictions </a>for Acura's lineup next year.

<img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/streetseen/acura/tltypes07_08s.jpg" />
Among the highlights:
<ul>
<li>Expect little new for the year, following the RDX and MDX launches from 06</li>
<li>Some cars will see shorter production runs in 08 due to make overs and new releases.</li>
</ul>

In Summary:

<img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/streetseen/acura/tsx.jpg" />

TSX: Look for the 08 TSX in the early-mid summer (2007) timeframe. Expect no significant changes. Look for the full model change to take place in early calendar-year 2008. Rumors of AWD and turbo are abound but very much unconfirmed.

<img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/streetseen/acura/rdx.jpg" />

RDX: No changes expected. Like the TSX, the 08 model is expected sooner rather than later. They (ToV) wonder if the RDX will be redone early (MY09) as it has been missing expectations.

TL: Although the car has seen a very successful rate of sale over the past few years, the mid-model upgrades didn't result in the sales boost Acura hoped for, despite the new Acura-TL Type S. TOV looks for the all new TL next fall, for MY09. They also look for SH-AWD technology as well as Advanced VTEC on its V6 motor- bringing power beyond 300hp.

<img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/streetseen/acura/mdx.jpg" />

MDX: Look for very minor tweaks next year as this car has only been on the road for about 6mths. TOV hopes for tighter gearing via a 6speed automatic, but arent holding their breath.

<img src="http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t193/streetseen/acura/rl.jpg" />

RL: TOV sums it up best "The poor RL continues to get battered in showrooms." This car has been surprisingly unsuccessful for Acura. So much so, that as TOV notes "We're left wondering if it makes sense to even do an MMC (Mid model change/upgrade) for the RL." Long story short, TOV isnt sure what to expect and they just hope Acura will move on... to a F/R (front engine/rear wheel drive) layout and an engine that feels like 300+hp.

NSX: It won't come in MY08. Acura's changin their mind on what this car will be- going from a V10 lightweight sports car to a All Wheel Drive Front Engined GT Car. Maybe it will come in MY10. TOV is willing to wait for the "right" car, but they really dont want to see Acura trying to build a GT-R.
