why don't you go with the holset hx50? they are pretty cheap and you can find the rebuild kits really easy for them. plus you can make tons of power with that turbo. that extended fin design is something else boy. i had one and sold it but now i have a hx40 that is going on my supra.

yeah the Borg Warner turbos are high dollar and top of the line sh!t today. holset and BW
share the same technolgy with the extended fin comp wheels and the BW have BIG shaft so they will take a beating.

maybe another 2 or 3 weeks and you will be tuning mine. and i have no secrets so i will say once mine is tuned to 15psi i will buy my rims. after that i am buying alcoholinjectionsystems.com stage 2 kit can we get 22 psi out of it? next ime i will run with slicks dont worry. but i think we can get 22 to 25 psi out of methanol on stock motor. lets have the fastest street driven stock motor rx7 in the caribbean.

20 psi is more than e-nuff 15psi street 20psi track You still won't have traction even with slicks.. lol...

AT least another person to prove this..I've told him this time and time again....he'll just have to learn to flutter the gas off and on lightly....that or weigh it down some in the rear. Alot of guys spin tires the whole way down the track and are use to it..some just have to learn it. I hear really good thing with Meth injection good route.

why don't you upgrade a few stuff before you just go meth injection VR4...all jokes aside you gotta know what the fuck your doing and I don't mean have someone hook it up for you then forget about...I'd read up on it study it..copy and print some print outs about it..pro's and con's. read up on it cause you have to know how to tune flush it right whe nremoving etc. CO2 is also one way to go about it not as cool for intercooling and high psi's but.
You can go either way with it, but I personally dont like the idea of relying on the meth to go outside the limits of your injectors.
The water/meth injection is a great tool and is almost becoming a must on any turbo vechile for its "intercooling" effect and its abilty to decrease the chances of knock/preignition. You dont HAVE to tune the water/meth injection to see gains from it, as gains are seen from its intercooling effect. Another benfit of the Water/meth inection is the abilty to run more boost as the water/meth injections acts as race gas during injection. Califcarm over on Mr2oc.com was only able to hit about 17 on 91 octane, but with the water/meth injection, he was able to run 20psi.
But there are of course more gains to be had by tunning the water/meth injection by running a "leaner (12.0-12.5)" AF ration, more ignition advance, and more boost to tune for. The only problem with doing this is, what happens when you pump fails, or the nozzle gets clogged, etc. You WILL blow you motor if tuned for high boost with added igntion advance, and a lean 12.0-12.5 AF, if you have injection failure.
What will you be tuning this with, and on what engine. Street can do this cause he can rebuild a motor and he has two fuel pumps which I'm sure back each other up tremendously. all this can happen if your not tuned right for it. This is why I also said you might want to upgrade a few stuff before you just jump into Meth injection my bwoy!!But good luck either way bruds. your still a queer though lol
StreetRX7
01-24-2009, 11:54 AM
Well said...^^
Its alot of pro's an con's with this meth setup.. I love straight race gas C-16... but for everyday street racing Meth injection will have to do... pump gas is good for about 16 to 18psi on a rotary..
I have seen as high as 20 psi but injectors was maxed out.. 99 to 100% .. thats with 850cc an 1600cc injectors...
My max with meth injection would be 18psi to 20psi max just to keep motor nice an cool without pinging... Like VIzuki said pump goes bad an the number one thing that goes wrong with meth injection is the nozzle gettin CLOG... Equals blown motor
I'm not relying on meth injection i'm useing it as ah help to keep intake charge cooler which this is what it was made for.. But my car will be properly tune for the boost i'm planning on running then meth like I said would come on as a helper...
VIZuki
01-24-2009, 12:55 PM
aight cool then yeah this is why i was telling VR4 to look into upgrades on parts that need upgrading and even trying CO2 intercooled or nitrous(though this can be as costly even more than running this thru the intake charge). Don't mess with this VR4 unless u have a spare motor or a builder on hand..and if your car is a daily driver I wouldn't look into something like this..but the dream is still there so if you still do it be careful with it and like streets plans to come in on the meth injection rather than running it all the time constantly.
92vr4
01-24-2009, 01:07 PM
I dont want meth so i can push more boost and lean out my afr to rwly on it. I want meth cuz it acts like a higher octain gas. Which will help me run cooler. And safer at higher boost

Then you run a careful mixture of C-16 and 91 or 93 pump gas..reason is C-16 can get expensive but if thats the case then you'd be running it more than street..or it would be activated more often. Or just buy C-16:dunno:

first off the meth injection only comes on at a predetermined boost. so if you have your car tuned for 15psi the meth will not be injesting if you have it set for higher boost. you can set it to start at 15 and max out at say 20 so once you run less than the cut in point you wont be injecting methanol. the best kit i have found to date is a proggresive injection that you can actually set maps with a laptop, its fully tunable. and pretty much a plug and play operation. http://www.alcoholinjectionsystems.com/p102/Stage-2-Adjust.-Progressive-Trunk-Mount-Water-Methanol-Injection-System/product_info.html

This is true but like you stated you can set..so you can set the perimeters to whatever you want really..your discribing the way street plans on doing this which is actually not an issue so first off PnP yeah if thats how its set up for it some kits aren't PnP.

first of know the principle behind it is one factor...when I get my hands dirty dude first of yo pops is the car mechanic if anything I give props for him and showing you what he knows. me I learned by doing it ain't no one show me how to do this and that well I liesome people showed me a few tricks) but the same as you studying and reading and jumping in. Its not hard to follow directions of something if you have the tools to do it and the machines to tweek something that you might need to grind to fit. So if you want to really be a batty bwoy then be a batty bwoy..you love to argue and thats how you are so I really don't pay you no mind"get my hands dirty" what a trip any vehicle I've ever owned was repaired by myself big or the help of people that I know....not you so don't act like you know when I do or don't be working on any of my rides. yeah it was me who informed people of you needing help with tuning your ride from way before your ras got on this site so wheres the respect and the thanks. Yeah "I give respect to where respect is do" sounds more like an excuse not to say shit.

ok listen up. I haven't said shit about your car. im all for anyone building any car. but the fact is. ii have been into cars since birth. yes I learned a whole lot from my father who I will come right out and say is a mechanical genius. but my father knows way less than I do about imports. which is where my heart is. all that I know about v8's I can attribute to my fathers help. but all I know about imports I learned on my own. period. unlike you who just got into the car scene (which I am always glad to see people getting into) I have always been into cars. before I worked in hess all I really did was work on cars.. randm jobs from porting and polishing to full engine rebuilds. and keep in mind this was from the time I was 16. the first engine I dissasembledd was for my bug when I was 14. now as street stated. noone has put a hand on my car besides me and my father. yes the engine was put in by my father only because I couldn't take the time off of work to go to florida to do it. yes I will definitely need streetrx's help tuning the car as this is something I am not familiar with. so don't take too much offense when I say get your hands dirty although I did meen it just how you took it. you know I will lend a hand to anyone that asks. especially you.... I feel I have said more than enough.. so for now im done typing. you need help gimme a call... until then.......

DYNO TUNE .....The BW turbo I'm going with this time around 3tcpower can tell you its amazing.. its ah lil bigger than what I have now an spool faster... Better power range all around.. So 500hp @ those boost level is reachable... MY turbo setup is old more than 5yrs old... They are way better/new technology out there now an design of turbos... ;) :)

This is true but his car came with 9.3:1 compression ratio I think so its a great platform to handle boost boost in Force induction or N/A set up..no its not your 8.?:1 range but less likely to blow up motor..thats why he's running at 8 pounds but anothe thing is with his higher compression he doesn't really need to and if he does plan to stay that high and run forged internals in the future..the more boost he runs the greater the out come from say a motor of the same model with higher boost pressure...unless you really like running high numbers in boost to make power, it isn't required to make power in a high compression engine.:dunno:
Oh and Chiney when you do go to say 12psi it would be a good idea to run better internals if you don't have it already..that or your Fuel mapping on your Engine management better be pretty good and on key to the point cause you'll have to play with your +/- timing ratios don't want it detonating. On a better note I need to talk to you bout your supercharger some time trying to figure out some stuff with bracket mounting and so forth......

Yea my internals are all built to handle in excess of 600HP so I'm straight on that end. My biggest problem is Fuel. I have upgraded Fuel Injectors and Pump but my rails and fuel hat are still stock. I'm confident that my current set up will hold it together for a few dozen more ponies. We'll see.
I'm also getting a brand new tune putting in the ECU with 3 different setting, all changeable while driving. 1 tune for daily driving, another for racing with race fuel or methanol, and a "kill" tune that I'll set in place when the car is parked incase someone try and steal it.
Oh and anytime. Mounting the Superchargers Head Unit is the easy part.... Playing with the pullies, belt, and tubing...... thats the nightmare!

Well i have the 6 puck sprung hub with my RPS 3200lb clutch, an that isht real aggressive on the street, plus my car is a daily driver, it is capable of 600lb ft of torque, so i guess i'm scurd...lol
VIZuki
02-07-2009, 12:40 AM
I don't know what you all talking bout them 6 puck sprung grab like a mutha fucka and the unsprung..well lets just say it makes traffic driving a pain in the ass..either or will develop whiplash in your neck LOL no joke :eek2: but sprung 6 puck is both street and strip so thats a better set up none the less for you VR4

02-07-2009, 02:54 AM
I kinda like my twin disk. it makes a little noise, which bothers me. but it grips like hell can take way mre power than my car will ever make. and I can slip it all I want. its nice for driving around. don't hurt your neck and it grips when u really need it..
VIZuki
02-07-2009, 03:10 AM
^^^^i agree just not very practical I to would go with this set up and traffic driving slipping over rev and pop..hmmm they make good twin disks like stated above and your neck can rest easy...lol you can't sue yourself for neck whiplash..
StreetRX7
02-07-2009, 07:16 AM
Well i'm used to driven my car with clutch setup an really used slipping it pretty good in traffic.. Plus STX traffic is nothing like NJ,NY,PA Or the TPK...I only drive on the weekends... ;) but for 92vr4 sprung hub will be fine for your 1st time around an being a DD...
Also 6 puck unsprung or twin disk you still here the chatter in the clutch when you drive off from A stop... The main reason I don't like a twin disk ,Like REDBULL said they make noise @ idle dont know if your release bearing good or not.. :) But REDBULL have a top of the line twin disk we put it to the test last drive out...

02-08-2009, 03:20 AM
hey like i said it makes a lil noise at idle and when you press in the clutch. but its growing on me. that thing grips. it does chatter a lil if you really try to ride it. but all in all its alot less harsh than a 6 puck. the difference is about 2grand. i checked it out and my clutch is about 2500 bucks:eek: so i doubt there will be another one goin in when this one go's:cry: but i do have to say if you can deal with the noise i really do recommend the twin disk.

This setup is for dual walbro pump 255lbs They also make this setup for dual bosch 044 pumps..
The rite fuel system can really get up there in prices.... that setup with daul walbro start @ $600 no lines an fittings (just pump an assembly)

Ayy they got good price's on laptops all over island REDBULL more than what you'll need it for. That lil Acer they sell at radio shack with the Pentium Atom processor running XP is pretty sweet nice small and probably again more than you'll need it for. think its 400 bucks...no DVD drive but unless you care about USB adapters it would do the trick for tuning..but you might want one to do other stuff aswell.

Most definitly streetable with A/C dailey driver But it will be right on the edge power wise... Turbo is BIG but not BIG where I would need additive to spool it ;) .... With my fother 3rd gen build I went with alot of brand name like Greddy/HKS etc... but there are alot of other stuff out there which is cheaper an make more power than HKS or Greddy.. lol.. just did my research yrs ago an I said to myself the next car/rx7 I build I will do it my way an not with KITS.....
