Honda's started testing a new prototype sports car, based off the S2000, over on the Nuerburgring in Germany.

Are we witnessing the 2nd coming of the NSX?

It appears to be a new GT-coupe. Maybe it will be something to compete with the LF-A and GT-R? Or maybe it's a lower end hardtop coupe to compete in the $30k segment with the 350Z.

Regardless, Honda is in the testing stage of the development of a new sports car. Usually, such mules precede their production counterparts by 3-4 years. Although they are sometimes just a case study for the manufacturer, Honda has said that there will be a new NSX and that the new NSX will have a V10 engine, so that's probably what we have here.

Although the last NSX was rear engined, recent NSX concepts have been front engined, suggesting that Honda may go that route instead. And, while the rear of the donor S2000 body has been extended, this could also be done for rear seats- and not necessarily for a rear engine. Although the transversely mounted exhaust system suggests that the body was extended for the engine, the lack of intakes, combined with the broad front end suggests otherwise.
So then, maybe this will be a new 2+2 car, with a front mounted V10 mated to a variant of Honda's new Super Handling AWD system? Only time will tell...
