This website ahs a ton of pictures from the Orlando Street World Nationals held over this weekend. This link is for Friday shots, at the bottom there is a link to Saturday. Nothing for Sunday as of now. I am pretty sure several people from the track were planning on going, a crew goes every year.

Animal Racings Camaro, owned by Gary Thomas, not sure who driving, I had heard it might be Bambi of El Pachuco but not positive.

There are some shots of that rear turbo vette that was posted here a while ago, and a pro mod Superbird along with many other cars plus some short skirts to keep it interesting. A ton of Mustangs for Chiney, plus a lot of turbo cars, along with Roots and screw style blowers. One BMW with a blower bigger than the original engine sticking up through the bonnet, and a very nice looking box Nova.

Bambi was in fact driving the Camaro, ran a 7.095 in qualifying, and Delano Harris Sr. ran a 7.957 in Gary Thomas' Beretta, both in Super Pro, not enough to qualify it appears.

I am typing this from miami airport. animal and the predator failed to qualify. the time you posted must be wrong. you had to run a 7.04 to qualify I was there for all of saturday. sunday was rained out so we went and rode go karts. I have pics and video of qualifying I will post what I can when I can.

Maybe I didn't word it quite right, neither cars qualified. 7.095 was Bambi's best, not enough to qualify.

I did see this mentioned, which might explain the car missing from the third round of qualifying results:

"Benito Soto brought his 69 Camaro all the way from St. Croix Virgin Islands to participate in the race this weekend. They burnt a piston in the second qualifying session and are replacing it tonight to make it ready for Saturday qualifying."

I think that is actually Gary Thomas in the photo.

yeah it was a great event from what i saw. pity about the rain but hey with my luck i count on things like that. just glad i got to see some of it. orlando is an awesome town so i still had fun. if you ever want to see fast on a street tire check out this event. now i am an import guy but you gotta give it up for anyone who can get traction on a 10.5 street slick when you are pushing out 2000hp. i definately recommend checking it out next year. the event is held halloween weekend every year.
