That video is from Australia. The car is a 70's Mercury Capri (German made) that they somehow fitted with a 460. What I have read is that one reason he finished the run is the throttle stuck at WOT.:eek:

I think it was the large amount of air under the car that caused it to float.that wheelie bar is crap though....

If you look at the title of the video you will see that it IS a Wheelstand Competition. I think the guy won the prize money, at least that is what I read somewhere else. (I know, facts on the internet:rofl:)

You are absolutely right that a car like that needs wheelie bars normally. I am sure the Capri would have flipped or come close without the bars.
